Every church, no matter large or small, has Bible study class. I have attended Bible study classes in some churches. One teaches; others listen, then it is finished. Or one asks; others think and answer, then it is over. Also there are some churches that give everyone, who attends Bible study class, a paper Questionaire about some passages of the Bible ahead of time, so that when studying, they share their opinions. I appreciate this way.

I personally think, churches should encourage everybody to meditate God’s word, let members raise questions for discussion. Some churches say, we do let our members raise questions. But my point is to raise a question on meditation of God’s word not on literal meaning. A good question can benefit the whole congregation or even teach preachers too.

How does God say about studying His word? Psalms 1:1-3, “Happy are those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or take the path that sinners tread, or sit in the seat of scoffers; but their delight is in the law of the Lord, And on his law they meditate day and night. They are like trees planted by streams of water, which yield their fruit in its season, and their leaves do not wither. In all that they do, they prosper.” Psalms 4:4 “ponder it on your beds, and be silent.”

I don’t follow human’s doctrine; so my thinking hasn’t been affected by humans’ eloquence. All humans’ teaching must be filtered by the holy spirit in me. Even though I am not a pastor or a preacher just an ordinary Christian, I dare challenge preachers’ preaching. If it doesn’t fit my conscience or my understanding--holy spirit’s guide, I shall ignore it. I mean I am following Jesus NOT any human.

I have never read any spiritual book but I have heard some wonderful preaching, which is my favorite, some is exactly like what I am thinking about. We have the same holy spirit who raised Jesus from the dead. He is the only teacher who teaches both preachers and ordinary believers. so if it is from holy spirit’s revelation, of course, He also convinces those who have the same spirit. We should be guided to meditate on the word of God by holy spirit instead of by humans’ doctrine; also we should raise questions by revelation of the holy spirit instead of by literal meaning. Certainly, first of all, we should have holy spirit in us.1Corinthians 2:10 "for holy spirit searches everything, even the depths of God." Without holy spirit, where does revelation come from?

Before raising any question, we need meditate on the word of God; also before meditating on the word of God, we should study Bible. Because God’s word is the seed, the incorrupt seed. A seed must contain life. Apart from the seed, how can we expect harvest? Before studying the word of God, we need pray and ask God to open our eyes, our ears and our understanding, to enlarge our hearts; we also need call holy spirit to guide us and give us revelation. The very important thing is you must have a strong desire to know God well---2Peter1:2, “May grace and peace be yours in abundance in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord.” Everything comes from the knowledge of God.

After studying some passages or scriptures, then meditate on them all the time, even in your dream. If you really deny yourself to let holy spirit guide you, the revelation of holy spirit flows into your mind like living water. You couldn’t help yourself raise more and more questions, and then meditate again, then question chain comes into your mind, then meditate again and again, raise more and more questions…

The first question I raised is, why are there so many different denominations in the body of Jesus Christ ? I won’t accept some preachers’ explanation, such as factors of history or culture or custom or location and the like. I don’t care what kind of history or culture or region factors; I only know that God has never changed. He is the Lord, who is and was and is to come forever. The same holy spirit can NOT teach so many different preachings.

Why do some preachers emphasize tithing so much, but don’t stress “love”, or “presenting your life as a living sacrifice to God”, and “go into the world to spread Gospel” so much? I wonder, whether there is love in their hearts; whether they themselves have presented their lives as living sacrifices to God; I also wonder maybe they sit at home waiting for others to bring people to churches. why don’t they show their examples to people? just as "the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve". Jesus washed his disciples feet that we can follow His example to wash feet for each other and to bear each other’s weakness.---(read my nother article what offering pleases God )

Some preachers say, “we are all humans, of course, we make mistakes, we sin…” which means, if I- your preacher sin, don’t be astonished, I am like you. Do you think, it is proper for a preacher to say so? 1John3:9, “those who have been born of God do not sin, because God’s seed abides in them; they cannot sin, because they have been born of God.” 1John 5:18, “we know that those who are born of God do not sin, but the one who was born of God protects them, and the evil one does not touch them.” I am not a preacher, but I don’t seek for any excuse to sin.

Should we seek God’s will? What is God’s will? Isn’t His will to heal all the sick, to bear our weakness, to prosper us? Why are people still praying like this “if it is your will, God, please heal me or bless me or prosper me.”? Jesus healed all the sick who had come to Him. He didn’t tell any patient like this, “to heal you? let me ask my Father first, whether it is His will to heal you or not?” 3John 1:2, “you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well.” Psalms 103:2-3, “Praise the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits- who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases.” Matthew8:17 “He took our infirmities and bore our diseases.” 1Peter2:24, “by his wounds you have been healed.” Psalms 23:6 “surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life…” Psalms35:27, "The LORD be exalted, who delights in the well-being of his servant."

Is there any disease or person whom God doesn’t want to heal? if the answer is no, why many Christians had prayed so hard but died of diseases?

Can intercession heal people’s diseases? If not, why waste of time? Did Jesus teach His disciples to sit at home and intercede for people’s healing? Of course Not. He send them to go into every town, to go into people’s home to lay their hands on the sick and pray for them.

Can our intercession really save people? If yes, why our intercession? isn’t Jesus praying for the whole world sitting at the right hand of the Father ? isn’t his intercession greater and more powerful than ours?

Why do we call Jesus our personal Lord? If not, the president of one country or region invites Jesus as his country or region’s Lord, then the whole country or the whole region have become Christians, isn’t it easier than we spread Gospel one by one?

Why didn’t Jesus show himself to the highest priest and the king or the whole congregation in public, after raised from the dead? That would be easier to convince people He is the Son of God.

Why did God choose Mary to give birth to Jesus not other woman, what was her character? from this case can you find the standard that God uses a person?(read my another article by what standard does God use a person)

After having betrayed Jesus, Judas regretted and tried to send money back to the high priest; Peter denied Jesus three times. Why were their results different? Why didn’t God give Judas a chance but give Peter a chance? Is it fair? Nowadays, If a Christian denied God, what will happen to him?

Luke10:1, “after this the Lord appointed seventy others and sent them on ahead of him in pairs to every town and place where he himself intended to go.” why did Jesus send them in pairs instead of one by one? Nowadays, Do we need go to spread Gospel in pairs? Why?

Luke 9:28, “now about eight days after these sayings, Jesus took with him Peter and John and James, and went up on the mountain to pray. And while he was praying, the appearance of his face changed, and his clothes became dazzling white. They saw Moses and Elijah, heard a voice come from the cloud to testify Jesus was the son of God. behold, it was Jesus who TOOK Peter, John and James (Bible mentions at least three times), not they FOLLOWED Him to the mountain. Why did Jesus only choose Peter and John and James to show them His transfiguration and let them hear the voice? Was Jesus showing His partiality on His disciples? If so, that is UNFAIR ! also Jesus always liked going up the mountain to pray, Bible mentioned many times, why ? Why not wilderness or by river or someone’s quiet room or barn etc? what does mountain stand for? Do we need go up a mountain to pray too?

Jesus talked to a fig tree. Can we talk to our property or our trouble or bank account or anything like He did? Why?

When Jesus went to raise Lazarus from the grave, He instructed people to take away the stone in front of the grave, and after Lazarus came out of the grave, He again instructed people to unbind him to let him go. The question is, why didn’t Jesus say words like this, “stone, move away!” “bandage, break into pieces!” Why bothered people? isn’t it easier said than done? So when we ask God to do something, shall we just watch or cooperate?

John8:15, “You judge by human standards’ I judge no one.” again, John 12:47, Jesus said, “I do not judge him. For I did not come to judge the world, but to save it.” John9:39, “Jesus said, ‘I came into this world for judgment so that those who do not see may see, and those who do see may become blind.” the question is, judge or not?!

………
………
Too many questions we need ask; too many things we need know. guided by holy spirit to meditate the word of God, I can raise thousands of questions. Some of them I can explain by myself, some are still pending. We need raise questions guided by holy spirit and share our revelations with each other in congregations, instead only pastors or ministers ask. This can benefit the whole body of Jesus Christ. Whoever has interesting, I invite you to ask or share your revelations.

I think its awesome that you are questioning those things that the people around you are trying to teach you. And even more incredible that you are allowing the Holy Spirit to teach you of God.

I lived for so long being spoon feed by pastors, teachers of the Bible, and other "godly men", but I never could get everything they were teaching me to balance out. I had to do all these things to know that I was saved and that I was pleasing to God. Looking back trying to do all those things was the most miserable time of my life. I knew I was miserable then and am happy to be free from their law of standards to please God.

Until I really got aquainted with God Himself; through the pages of the bible, fellowship with the Holy Spirit, and allowing God to reveal Himself to me in a real and tangable way, I was not satisfied, I was not certain of anything.

Relationship with God is by far the most rewarding and satisfying part of my life... but then it overflows into every area of my life, so my life is completely changed.

God wants us to ask questions, He wants us to be thorough in our understanding of who He is. He doesn't want us to settle for someone elses understanding. He wants you! Your heart to be involved. He wants You to see His pursuit and love toward you.

There is still so much more to know about God, who He is, and His heart, but He will reveal Himself to you if you ask Him. Find truth where ever you can about God; whether it be in Sunday School, a bible study, a conversation over coffee with a friend, a secular movie, a book, or your relationship with your spouse or famlily. "God is in everything, even in a kiss (the Count of Monte Cristo)."

Each and everyone of us has the ability to display God and share those things He has revealed to us. We are all in a way called to be Pastors to each other, to take care of one another and demonstrate the love of God is such a way that no one is left untouched, unloved.

Keep questioning, you'll get answers.
